Biaggi & Messina is the result of many years of experience and professional tradition, brought together in year 2000 by the merger of two prestigious firms: Messina & Messina and Gustavo Biaggi & Associates. Biaggi & Messina has evolved as one of the most complete and versatile firms in the Dominican Republic to serve the diverse legal requirements of local and foreign investors.
The founders of the firm are GUSTAVO BIAGGI, specialized in Corporate Law, Banking Law, and Mergers & Acquisitions; ANA ISABEL MESSINA, with over twenty years of experience in Intellectual Property, and is currently President of the Dominican Association of Intellectual Property (ADOPI) and National Delegate of the Inter-American Association of Industrial Property (ASIPI); and PABLO GONZÁLEZ TAPIA, with extensive experience in international public tenders and contract negotiation, mainly in the energy and telecommunications sectors, litigations and international arbitration, privatization and project financing in various industrial and commercial sectors.
Biaggi & Messina internationally-recognized professional standing is sustained by the partners of the firm, who actively participate in the structural reforms of the Dominican Republic.
Biaggi & Messina is conformed by seventeen attorneys, four paralegals and a skillful administrative department. Our legal team of specialized attorneys, proficient in several foreign languages, has pursued studies in prestigious universities in the Dominican Republic, France, the United States and the United Kingdom. Our professional expertise in every field of legal practice allows the firm to provide premium legal services to our clients.

The origins
It was in 1924 when the Licenciado Temistocles Messina formed along with his brother-in-law, Vetilio Matos, the firm Messina & Matos. Some time after that, and as a consequence of the political pressures of the era, the firm was closed, and reopened in the year 1967 under the name Milton Messina & Asociados. At that moment, Dr. Milton Messina, that had just arrived from being the ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Washington D.C., and later as a representative of the country before the Interamerican Development Bank, uses his experience to found what in that time constituted the first lawyer firm dedicated exclusively to legal consultancy. The firm continued its reorientation and with the entrance of Gustavo Biaggi in 1978, and Ana Messina in 1985, the firm was diversified, extending its attention to international clientele and developing the Department of Intellectual Property of the firm. Finally, following 1991, Milton Messina & Asociados becomes Messina & Messina, which years later is joined by Dr. Miguel Nuñez Durán and Lic. Pablo Gonzalez Tapia as partners of the firm.
On the other hand, Gustavo Biaggi Pumarol is a lawyer with ample legal formation, who has orientated his practice mainly towards the banking and tourist sectors, being one of the leading firms in legal consultancy in those sectors. Formed in its origins in the Milton Messina & Asociados firm, the Lic. Biaggi Pumarol founded in 1991 along with Lic. Luis Miguel Pereyra, the firm Pereyra & Biaggi, firm that came to be in a small period of time one of the most important firms in the Dominican Republic. In the year 2000, Pereyra & Biaggi dissolved and the Lic. Biaggi founded what came to be known as the Gustavo Biaggi & Asociados Firm.
